Unit Games are scheduled by the unit with the goal of making unit game opportunities available to all sessions and all clubs.  Beginning with 2020, Unit 143 is offering two types of Unit Games:  Unit Championship Games paying 63.6% of the masterpoint awards earned at Sectionals, and Unit Charity Games paying 81.8% of the masterpoint awards earned at Sectionals.

Any club running a regularly scheduled game on the Unit Championship Game date and time-slot may run that game as a Unit Championship Game.  Time-slots must be followed, where 'AM' applies to games starting before Noon, 'Aft' applies to games starting at Noon to 5:59 PM and 'Eve' applies to games starting at 6:00 PM or later.

Unit games are special games listed on each club's ACBL webpage.  https://www.acbl.org/clubs_page/  Due to the nature of the scheduling system, all of the Unit's Unit Games are listed for every club, which is misleading.  A club may conduct a Unit Game on the designated date and time only if the club has a regular game at that date and time.

Points won in Unit games count toward the Unit 143's Ed Schultz Player of the Year Award. For more information on the Player of the Year, see the Conditions of Contest.  For a list of past winners, click here.

ACBL charges clubs higher sanction fees for Unit Games so clubs might charge higher entry fees.
